History of “La Mayor”

The bar “La Mayor“ was originally a shoe shop for riding boots.
Most of the clients were from the military.

  

In 1986 Hermenegildo founded here “La Mayor”.


 

The pub was one of the first pubs in Madrid which sold import beers.
Not only the decoration of the pub has been changing all the time
but also the glass collection increased over the years.




 

Because of the Italian Centre of culture and school of literature “La Mayor”
is a popular place for authors, poets and artists to get together.


 

Today “La Mayor” counts 70 types of beers from 14 countries
which one of the most attractive offersin this site of Madrid.
